2. Terrestrial Plants: Includes babool (Acacia nilotica), kadam, and jamun trees.
3. Grasses and Shrubs: These support a variety of herbivores and nesting birds.

1. Habitat for Migratory Birds: The wetland is a crucial wintering ground for birds traveling along the Central Asian Flyway.
2. Breeding Grounds: Many birds, such as herons and cormorants, breed here.
3. Water Regulation: Acts as a natural flood control system and groundwater recharge zone.
4. Biodiversity Hotspot: Supports over 370 bird species, 50 fish species, and various mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.

1. Encroachment and Pollution: Urbanization threatens the ecosystem.
2. Water Scarcity: Inconsistent water supply affects the wetland’s health.
3. Climate Change: Impacts migratory patterns and wetland dynamics.

The Bharatpur Wetland is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers, showcasing nature’s resilience and beauty.
